Biography

Mary Ruppe, MD is an endocrinologist who specializes in the treatment of metabolic bone disease. She is the program director of the endocrine fellowship. In addition to her clinical duties with the Methodist Academic Medicine Associates, she oversees the pediatric rickets clinic at the Shriners Hospital.

She received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Ruppe completed her residency at Georgetown University Medical Center and her fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medical Institute. She is a member of both the Endocrine Society and the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research. She is actively involved with Women in Endocrinology, having been elected and having served as the secretary-treasurer of the organization from 2010 to 2013. Her research interests focus on genetic bone diseases with a special interest in X-linked hypophosphatemic rickets.
